Tool questions

How do I use this tool?

Choose your actual configuration target, edit the two lines and preview them. Copy the output into the setting named below it after backing up your configuration.

What is an MOTD?

It is the description shown beneath a server's name in the Minecraft multiplayer server list. This builder previews two Java server-list lines; it does not edit or connect to your server.

Why are there two output targets?

Java server.properties takes one escaped motd value with legacy colors and a newline escape. MiniMOTD takes a HOCON motds list containing MiniMessage strings and supports RGB on compatible clients. These outputs are not interchangeable.

Can I use this for Bedrock?

This tool exports Java configuration only. Bedrock server-name and status formatting use different settings; no Bedrock export is offered.

Will the preview fit every Minecraft client?

The preview is approximate. Font, window size, resource packs and glyph widths can change the available space. Test your final MOTD in the clients your players use; there is no universal character limit shown here.
