Playing Minigames

Minigames servers offer distinct activities rather than one continuous survival world. Match lengths, team sizes and rules depend on the game, and a network's overall player count does not tell you how busy each queue is.

Before you choose a server

  • Look for the specific games you want and whether their queues are active when you play.
  • Compare party limits, team sizes and how friends enter the same match.
  • Check match length, reconnect rules and any required resource packs.

How to join

Open a server page to check its supported editions, versions and entry requirements. Use the address shown for your edition.

Java Edition

  1. Copy the Java IP from the server page.
  2. In Minecraft, open Multiplayer, then Add Server.
  3. Paste it into Server Address, save and join.

Bedrock Edition

  1. Copy the Bedrock IP and note the separate port.
  2. On mobile or Windows, open Play, then Servers and Add Server.
  3. Enter the IP in Server Address and the listed port in Port, then save and join.

Console editions generally do not offer the same Add Server option. Crossplay is available only when the listing supports both editions. Follow any whitelist or modpack instructions on the server page.

Common questions

Can I play minigames with a group of friends?

Many servers have parties or private games, but support depends on the game and server. Check party size limits and whether matchmaking places your group on the same team. If you want a private match, find out whether it is available to everyone or requires a particular rank.

Why can a busy server still have an empty game queue?

A network's online count can include people in several games and lobbies. Players may prefer one mode, and some matches need a minimum number of participants before starting. Look at the queue for your chosen game and try the hours when your friends or region are most active.
