Playing Prison

Prison servers commonly turn mining and selling resources into a path through ranks. Some add powerful tools, prestige systems or plots, while others keep progression simpler and put more emphasis on the shared prison setting.

Before you choose a server

  • Compare rank costs, mine access and how selling resources works.
  • Find out whether prestige or season resets remove tools, currency or plots.
  • Check where PvP is enabled and what you can lose in combat.

How to join

Open a server page to check its supported editions, versions and entry requirements. Use the address shown for your edition.

Java Edition

  1. Copy the Java IP from the server page.
  2. In Minecraft, open Multiplayer, then Add Server.
  3. Paste it into Server Address, save and join.

Bedrock Edition

  1. Copy the Bedrock IP and note the separate port.
  2. On mobile or Windows, open Play, then Servers and Add Server.
  3. Enter the IP in Server Address and the listed port in Port, then save and join.

Console editions generally do not offer the same Add Server option. Crossplay is available only when the listing supports both editions. Follow any whitelist or modpack instructions on the server page.

Common questions

What does ranking up do on a Prison server?

Ranks often unlock new mines or parts of the server, but the exact rewards and costs vary. Look at the progression guide to see whether you need currency, tasks or other milestones. Also check what happens after the final rank, particularly if the server offers a prestige system.

Will a reset remove all of my Prison progress?

Different servers reset different things. A season change might clear currency and ranks, while a prestige action may restart only part of your progression. Read which tools, upgrades, plots and purchases carry over. If the listing does not explain this, look for a current reset policy before starting.
