Playing Skyblock

Skyblock usually starts you on an island with limited resources and room to expand. Multiplayer servers may add missions, generators, trading or custom systems, so the route from a starter island to a large build can vary considerably.

Before you choose a server

  • Compare starter resources, generator upgrades and how essential materials become available.
  • Check island member limits and who can manage storage or remove teammates.
  • Read economy, automation and season reset rules before planning large farms.

How to join

Open a server page to check its supported editions, versions and entry requirements. Use the address shown for your edition.

Java Edition

  1. Copy the Java IP from the server page.
  2. In Minecraft, open Multiplayer, then Add Server.
  3. Paste it into Server Address, save and join.

Bedrock Edition

  1. Copy the Bedrock IP and note the separate port.
  2. On mobile or Windows, open Play, then Servers and Add Server.
  3. Enter the IP in Server Address and the listed port in Port, then save and join.

Console editions generally do not offer the same Add Server option. Crossplay is available only when the listing supports both editions. Follow any whitelist or modpack instructions on the server page.

Common questions

Can I share a Skyblock island with friends?

Many Skyblock servers offer island teams or co-op access, but their permissions differ. Look for member limits and whether guests can build, open storage or change island settings. Decide who will own the island, and find out what happens to shared progress if that player stops playing.

Does every Skyblock server use the same progression?

No. Some focus on careful resource management and building, while others use missions, shop purchases or upgrade systems. Read how new materials become available and whether progress depends on trading with other players. Reset schedules also matter if you want a long project rather than a seasonal competition.
